It’s a Small World Ride History:
It’s a Small World was originally created for the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair, designed by Disney’s team of Imagineers with support from legendary artist Mary Blair. It was commissioned by UNICEF and sponsored by Pepsi-Cola to promote global peace and unity through the eyes of children.
The ride’s enduring message is simple and powerful: we are more alike than we are different.
After the fair, it was moved to Disneyland in 1966, and due to its popularity, versions of the attraction were later built in Walt Disney World (Florida), Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Hong Kong Disneyland.
